Graves of Time

Buffeted by hormones
we have mere moments
warring between dawn and twilight
Of open and closed sight

I am a better man
For seeing her a second time
Crossing the river
Rather than beholding from ashore

Her mercy, her inner charms
Thrown at me tonight. All mine
between dusk and dawn
between the shadows of time.

Laughing, she takes all rules away.
The battle has begun.
Between shadows and light
She set me free from digging my grave

In this one life’s time.
