Poisoned Rain

You and me and him and her
and us and them.
Us. And. Them.

We are merely names
in the poisoned rain
burning down
love:

meteor-dust gallops
at the toes of our soot-prints
mangled by the poisoned rain
eroding to nothing
this love:

He kills her over and over
again and again
in buses and courthouses,
in newspapers and magazines:
corroding human flesh with poisoned rain
scorching acid
this love:

Half the human population
Undone: disrobed, unclothed:
mashed, crushed, corrupted, garbage-ized
in poisoned rain
in scorching acid
This Love.

Dedicated to Nirbhaya and her friend for the rampant madness of our times that they have exposed through their brave ordeal.
