Breaking Free

The mute sun
sank
down the window
into a blank void.

Warm fluid cherry
trickled

along the curve of her neck.

A tender feather
floated
to her still collarbone.

Glass eyes
reflect the chocolate brown
fan constrained to an uneven ceiling.

Transparent blobs
dripped from the salt stained tap
in the kitchen.

An abrupt click of a door handle
briefly bothered the
silence around his shoes:

Silver metal exuded his warmth
that was breaking away
from the expanding cherry pool.

His frame:
a tattered silhouette rousing
from the dead:
pale cheeks blushing bright
below periodic bulbs
of the corridor:

His stride:
light as a feather on frayed
stained carpet:
set free from the sheer weight
of her cherry warmth.
